The Friends of Saint Michael's was formed to care for the Church after the local community raised $120,000 to purchase Saint Michael's in 1991. The Friends have performed extensive restoration work including the uncovering of a frieze stencilled around the walls.

Much fund-raising, many donations and a great amount of voluntary labour have been necessary to make the Church a fitting place to celebrate Holy Mass and Sacred liturgies. The upkeep and maintenance of this heritage building is an ongoing cost.

If you wish to assist the Friends of Saint Michael's in preserving this Church of tradition and heritage - a Church that was built on the faith and dedication of the early settlers of the Wollombi district - people who sacrificed many personal comforts to erect this beautifully simple Church, please contact us via our Contact Page.

In September 2006, The Anglican and Roman Catholic communities for the Wollombi Valley signed a formal Covenant to work together.
